Help support Pete in his latest cycle challenge
18 May 2022
Together with his local charity cycling group, Pete has been training hard to prepare for the long, arduous cycle ride of the second stage of the Tour de France, taking place in Copenhagen on 1st July, a day before the professional riders start their race. The route is 113miles/183kms long and has to be completed in a day. Although fairly flat, this route is known for being windy so this challenge will not be easy!
In preparation for the challenge, Pete has cycled over 1,200 miles this year and climbed over 51,585 ft! In addition to his training programme, Pete has raised almost £2,500 personally and the cycling group have raised £5,000 for Prostate Cancer UK with a record 250 burgers and 350 hotdogs cooked for a fundraising barbeque!
Pete is also planning an upcoming auction at a local quiz where a signed Bristol City shirt will be available for bidding! Any potential bids can be emailed to Pete or by private message on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/pete.mcbride. All bids will be considered!
If you would like to support Pete, please visit his fundraising page to place a donation. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men. Every 45 minutes one man dies from prostate cancer – that's more than 11,500 men every year. 1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer in their lifetime.
We wish Pete all the best of luck - a great challenge for a deserving cause!
